WHAT IS A CORPORATE
VOLUNTEER COUNCIL?
- A Corporate Volunteer Council (or
CVC) is a group of companies who have a volunteer program for
their employees or are interested in developing a
program. The council is composed of representatives of
these companies and is sponsored and staffed by the Nassau
County Volunteer Center.
WHAT IS THE
PURPOSE OF THE CVC?
- To exchange information about
corporate volunteer programs among the companies, assisting
those who wish to initiate programs.
- To provide a forum for companies
to learn about needs for volunteers and the resources in the
community.
- To provide a way for member
companies to work jointly on community needs or problems.
The CVC is sponsored by the Nassau
County Volunteer Center, whose mission is to mobilize people and
resources through the promotion of volunteerism and deliver
creative solutions to community problems.
