The mission of the Nassau Humane Society is to care for and find homes for neglected, abandones, and unwanted animals.  NHS works on animal welfare--educationand enforcement and animal rescue.  
         

Volunteer Needs: 18+yrs.

and under 18 with guardian

  • Cage cleaning
  • Property maintenance
  • Specialized skilss--woodworking, painting, etc.
  • Animal grooming

  • Dog & cat food
  • Cat litter, newspapers
  • Bleach
  • Leashes
  • Pet shampoo
  • Basically anything related to pet care
  
         
Special Projects:      
  • Cattery expansion
  • woodworking--doghouses, crates
  • Dog yard preparation (grass cutting and irrigation)
  • Pasta for Paws
