The 10th Annual G.O.K.I.D.S (Giving Our Kids Important Daily Supplies) Campaign was another rousing success! Initiated by the Corporate Volunteer Council of the Nassau County Volunteer Center, this drive to collect donations of needed school supplies has raised over $100,000 worth of donations and supplies in the last ten years. Every Nassau County School has received supplies every year for needy students. Donations were collected at sites around the county, including the Amelia Island Plantation, Barnabas Center, Century 21 offices,Fernandina Beach City Hall, First Coast Community Bank, First National Bank, First Federal Bank, Golf Club of Amelia, Amelia Dental Group, Nassau County Libraries, VyStar Credit Union, the Tax Collectors' offices, the Plantation Shop, the Nassau County Volunteer Center, the Callahan Fire Department, the Hilliard Town Hall, and the office of the Nassau County Record. The $9000 of supplies collected were distributed at VyStar Credit Union, which donated the use of their conference room, to every Nassau County School. Pictured above are some of the members of the Corporate Volunteer Council of the Nassau County Volunteer Center.
