The Non-Profit Leadership Institute provides workshops in partnership with the Florida State College of Nassau. Consulting assistance is available to non-profit (501(c)(3)) agencies.

Each year more than 3,000 volunteers from the Center assist area non-profits. The Skills Bank and Community Board Bank connect volunteers with skills to agencies that need these skills to achieve their service mission.

Businesses help through the Corporate Volunteer Council... Individuals help through agencies. Results benefit children, adults, senior and handicapped. The center administers FEMA Funds to partner agencies.

2012 Elsie Harper Volunteer of the Year Awards
NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
:

  1. Major volunteer work must be done on the island. (Organization/ project must be physically located on the island.)
  2. Selections should ONLY be based on written material submitted.
  3. Nominees must have done “grass roots” work on a particular project—focus on “people-to-people” volunteer work, not including fundraising, serving on boards, committees, etc.
  4. Consider the long term commitment to the organization/project (years, hours, etc.). Look especially at volunteer work performed during 2011.

The 2012 Rayonier Foundation Involved Good Citizen Award

The Nassau County Volunteer Center is pleased to inform you that Rayonier, through its Rayonier Foundation, will present an Involved Good Citizen Award at the 27th Annual Volunteer Awards Luncheon on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Atlantic Recreation Center. The award carries with it a $500 grant to a non-profit organization or agency of the winner’s choice.

The Rayonier Foundation "Involved Good Citizen" Community Award will be presented to an individual, living in Nassau County and not a Rayonier employee, who best exemplifies Rayonier's commitment to community involvement. This one-time award seeks to recognize and encourage community involvement within Nassau County and to help strengthen and improve the quality of life for its citizens.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE: Nominees for the Rayonier Foundation "Involved Good Citizen" Community Award should be individuals living in Nassau County who have made outstanding contributions in the area of volunteer service to a community project or non-profit organization within Nassau County. Nominations are to be made by fellow citizens, friends, relatives or agencies. A nomination award form must be completed by the person making the nomination for each individual nominated.
